Everyone is special,
some are just more special than others.
If you're
not prepared to hear a sad sad story stay away from this episode
of Special People Club,
because it is a real tear-jerker.
Welcome
Matt the Traitor.
When this all
first went down more than 2 months ago I was so sickened by it I
just wanted to forget it even happened. But for some unknown reason
I remembered it today and decided that the story had to be shared
so that it wouldn't happen again to someone else.
It all began with an email from an excited fan named Matt and the
video he received in his mailbox the week prior.
|
|
Matt's letters are in
yellow, mine are in black & white, and the maroon sidebar on
the right is me trying to sort my way through the agony of it all.

Dear Bob,
We were very pleased
with your website! We found much humor in your website! I
really enjoyed your art too! We do not push our belief system
on others and respect others way of religion and spirituality.
(NOT PUSHY CHRISTIANS) We do not tolerate and despise solicitors
that knock on our door with pamphlets and such.
To make a long
story short... In the past week, there has been a large Christian
Religious movement based out of California that has raised
literally, "Millions" to distribute a LIFE OF JESUS Video
to EVERY SINGLE HOME on the Islands of Hawaii. Eventually
every home in the US.(Imagine how many people you could feed
or house in these tough times!!!???) The organization is,
WWW.JESUSHAWAIIPROJECT.ORG
By the end of this month, EVERY HOME will have one of these
grossly appalling and exaggerated videos in their mail-box.
(We received ours yesterday). I went to the website (On The
Video) mentioned above and read about the project they have
planed with the pushy-used car salesman approach to preaching
their belief and viewed some of the feedback. Then to find
out that only 10% of the videos have been distributed the
other 90% at the end of this month. They are planning to send
out almost 500,000 tapes just in Hawaii. So furious, I purchased
THEIR domain name, WWW.JESUSHAWAIIPROJECT.COM. As you are
aware, this is the standard on the web and many accidentally
type the extension, ".COM" instead of ORG I would like to
forward it to your site! Please let me know ASAP if this is
ok with you as I really appreciate your websites approach.
(500,000 hits wont
hurt you either???) The purpose of this email is the principle
that the, "JHP" violates others rights of privacy and others
right of religious freedom by delivering a, "JESUS VIDEO"
it to every households mailbox and not in person. They are
simply negating the right of refusal. Please let me know ASAP
if you would like to assist me in this endeavor as of now
it is linked! I look forward in hearing back from you!
Regards,
Matt

The
Jesus Hawaii Project
 |
This
first letter from Matt was wonderful! Inspired and stubborn, |
|
I
love seeing others making an effort and sacrificing (even
if it's just a little) to make a difference.
Matt
had a wonderful idea: Hijack the ".com" option for
some religious site that uses .org or .net and make a mockery
of it there.
Venessa's
art teacher told her that "most people are only going
to have one or two great ideas in their whole life time, but
as an artist you'll have hundreds".
Something
tells me that this was Matt's one good idea... and he's going
to blow it big time.

Yes, do it! Sounds like a working plan to say the least!
I see you've already
done it to Jesus Dress Up. Thank you very much. Do you suppose
that's better than linking it to NormalBobSmith.com? If I
get a lot of response in regards to the tape I may even create
an inviting intro page specifically for the Hawaii Project
guests.
Thank you.
That was a very good idea.
Bob

It
was such a thrill to see Jesus Dress Up at this URL!
I was already |
counting
my chickens.
I envisioned a site sculpted and designed exactly like the Hawaii
Project's except with my own devious twist. It would have been
fantastic. |

Dear Bob,
I think linking
to NormalBobSmith is too intrusive at this time but the Crucifix
is SO FUNNY I JUST HAD TO!!! I think I may switch the forwarding
to your GOD prayer site in a few days!
I want it to be
subtle at first... when they click YOUR "NBS" link at the
bottom and see your site in its entirely, Shit will hit the
fan!!! Esp... You playing the devil!
Please keep me
informed as this may stir up much controversy and possibly
news. (I have friends in media) I will do the same in return.
Ultimately, this
will be an interesting venture... I am simply the middle man
directing the traffic. There are 3 different sites that I
will be rotating on a bi-weekly basis... "YOUR SITES", http://teachingsofthebuddha.com
and http://bismikaallahuma.org/Jesus/deny.htm
Glad to know you!
Keep in touch any time and LIVE LIFE!

Nice!
P.S. I was going
to ask what your Magnetic Fridge Labels would cost in volume?
let me know, I think I would like to sell them! (We have a
couple of web sites)
P.S. Your art is
in the same realm as Tim Burton with your OWN FLAVOR! Good
Stuff! (Danny Elfman was an old friend of mine)
Regards, Matt
fashionturn@hawaii.rr.com
P.S. Post all you
want related to the subject, but Please keep my name confidential
as Hawaii is a small town.
You can call me
"John Jones...."
LOL

I know that I'm a bit partial but I think Jesus Dress
Up is clearly the funniest of the links. Did you consider
linking this
version? Now that'd be funny!
Thanks, Bob

Christ,
he's making me look like such a putz here. He lays it on so
thick. |
|
Who wouldn't be into this whole prank?
He's
getting me all worked up here with all the name dropping,
"friends in the media" shit, and over-the-top friendly
banter, I should have seen this coming. He sounds like a tool,
I just couldn't see it yet.
Oh,
and so many cute P.S.'s now that we're partners in crime!
Maybe it's possible to make best friends in less than
a day!
Finally someone to share the load! The friend / accomplice
/ idea man I always wanted on the NET!
Wow,
and just yesterday I didn't even know him! He makes me look
like such a tool. How could I have been so gullible?
"LIVE
LIFE" my ass.
Tim Burton would be so disappointed.
|
|
I
especially hate it when I have a good idea and it's taken
away from me. I mean, can you imagine people typing in the
address and pulling up Evil
Jesus Dress Up?
|
 |
Matt,
you took that idea away from me. Now you must pay. |

Oh Bob... You are one sick one! NAMBLA?!?! LOL
I have linked it as of now! Thanks!
P.S. It may come
down soon as they are making me an offer to me.

Here's
where the sledge hammer hit me right in the stomach.
|
| Including
it as a "P.S." just adds insult
to injury. Reading this now kinda makes me sick. |

You sold it to them?
|
|
 |
I
was as dumbfounded as the email looks. I couldn't believe
|
|
someone could change directions so abruptly. |

Don't sell it!
Remember how pissed you were? What happened? $200? You should
hold out for at least $2,000. They'll pay if you post Evil
Jesus Dress Up there.
|
|
 |
As
you can see I sent this email out as fast as humanly possible!
|
|
I thought I could reason with the man. Try and talk sense into
him. Little did I know it was already too late. $200 is all
it was going to take. |

Aw man! What about the cause?
Is it hits you were after? It's not about hits it's about
right and wrong! Are you repenting too?
|
Your
comments and feelings are welcome.
|
 |
And
that did it. I went to the
URL and it directed
me to their main site (.org).
|
|
The
game was over and he was laughing at me (LOL). There
was nothing I could do, nothing more I could say.
I
think I was most irked by the fact that this fan of mine who
felt the cause and related to my purpose had no problem selling
out.
Yes,
that's what it is; selling out. Now do you see how ugly it
can be? I suppose you just have to feel it first hand like
I did to really know how wrong it is.
